Likazo Communications
Likazo Communications consists of me, Nina Pettersson, a Swedish expatriate living in the French Alps. I combine my language skills with my scientific education and my experience from the Pharmaceutical Industry, to provide Writing, Editing and Translation services in the Scientific/Medical domain.
I have always been passionate about languages and foreign countries and I started building my English skills already as a child, having foreign pen friends. Since 2000, I am using English daily – including my entire scientific career, as well as in my private life. I studied French in school, and got fluent after spending time as an au pair in a French family (1994), working at Disneyland, Paris (1995), and getting a Diploma in French from the University of Linköping, Sweden (1996). Today I am living in France and have added French as my third language of daily use.
I was always interested in Science and Health which led me to get a Master in Biochemistry (2000). After some time in the Pharmaceutical Industry, I continued with a PhD in Molecular Biology (2006) at the University of Göteborg, Sweden, and then a post doc in Cell biology at the University of Bern, Switzerland (2007-9).
During my maternity leave I have continued to take courses to learn more about subjects that interests me; Clinical Trials, Public Health and Business Administration. After some soul searching, analyzing my skills and what it is that I truly enjoy doing, I have come to the conclusion that I want to work with writing and translating scientific and medical communications. Science and Medicine are so interesting and fascinating subjects, and I want to help communicate such information to everyone – on different levels and languages. This is what I love, what I am good at and this is the reason I started Likazo Communications.
